What i see is what i've expected.. i mean what i've seen before..
Strong morale of story, check!
A great visual effects, check!
Mother of all natural disasters, check!
The scientists predict something wrong, check! It's so rolland's movies!
US president gives his final speech before the worldwide communication is broken, check!
When u see nothing on TV and hear nothing in the radio, apocalypse begins, check!
Our main character is having a bad relationship with his family at first, check!
Our main characters always get escape when the world behind them is torn apart, check!
Everything is suddenly okay in the last few minutes, check! upsss... in the last few seconds, actually!
Some good guys will be sacrefied and b*tches die, check!
Scenes of human from different nations are praying together, check!
Last but not the least, leave it to the chinese!

John Cusack, looking at his pathetic face from Identity to 1408, makes me feel desperate every time watching his movies, it might be why he got this role in 2012. Amanda Peet, she's not acting here, flat expression, having a reunion with Cusack since Identity. Mr. Danny, Oliver, Woody, Chiwetel Ejiofor could have saved this movie! But unfortunately, with a duration about two and half hours, it seems so flat and less-emotion!

Well, I have to admit there's no other movies could visualize disaster greater than this one, even i almost fall asleep because too many copycat action scenes here including from Rolland's previous movies himself. I almost had my laugh out loud when Cusack and his family is trying to escape from California using that LIMO flying over across the streets. It's a not a bird! it's not a rover! It's not the bus from SPEED! it's a LIMO! and it is arrived at the airport 100% safe, yeahh baby... i have a dejavu when Tom Cruise was chasing by tripod aliens in War of the World. Not to mention the Poseidon sinking cruise ship by tsunami, and the rest ... everything is going so instant stupidly! A doctor becomes a pilot, a plane could fled from the hot clouds while taking-off and fly from US to mainland china in just few hours!
I warned you that this movie has nothing to do with the Mayan's prophecies.

At some point, Mr. Rolland has a few actual issues here (besides the catastrophe), like G8 country summit and demonstration reject high interest of debt, while the chinese people could make everything possible in a low-cost.

Personally, i don't believe that 2012 is the final year we stand on earth. But i know something is going on there, more natural disaster, global financial crisis (again..) and of course, the US election...

I like Adam Lambert's song anyway!
