@Plaza Indonesia XXI, Studio 1, Oct 12 2009, 1455 hrs
Seorang wanita muda ,cantik, perfeksionis, sekaligus produser sebuah stasiun televisi di Sacaramento, Abbie (Katherine Heigl, yg juga menjadi produser film ini), harus berhadapan dengan Mike Chadway (Gerard Butler), seorang pembawa acara "The Ugly Truth" dari saluran tivi kabel dan baru bekerja di stasiunnya. Gaya Mike yang blak-blakan dalam mengurai hubungan pria dan wanita di setiap acaranya membuat Abbie merasa terintimidasi, meskipun harus tetap mempertahankannya karena menaikkan rating stasiun televisi mereka. Uniknya lagi, ternyata Mike bisa menebak kehidupan cinta Abbie yg selalu memimpikan pria idaman bahkan membantunya menggaet dokter muda yg tinggal di seberang rumah, Colin (Eric Winter). Lalu setelah Abbie berhasil mendapatkan pria idamannya, apakah dia puas? Bagaimana dengan Mike sendiri, apakah dia mendapatkan wanita yg diinginkannya? hmm.. tentunya tipikal film komedi romantis yg sudah bisa kita tebak bukan?
Okei... , this kind of movie will have the same ending. So, just even don't think about it. Personally, it's not boring at all for the first two-third... It could be an opposite version of he's just not that into you, which is more boringgg.... Opens with a cheerful song, yeahh.. i like all the sarcastic and dirty jokes , you are the man, Mike Chadway!! I learn a lot of new "anatomical terms" and relationship quotes too, da*n! I think they're trying to make an adult version of American Pie or something. Katherine and Gerard did a good job indeed, even Gerard looks more like "sport channel guy" rather than a guy who knows a lot of men-women relationship. But somehow, i think it takes too far when he suggested Abbie what to wear and how to gesture, he is not a f*king fashion advisor , heh? Upss, i have to keep my review in PG-13..
Hmm.. for the last one-third, this movie is going slowly and unfunny.... i don't really buy that romantic dinner dan dance anyway.. Some might say that their chemistry just don't click. Thank goodness, it's ended on an air-baloon when this ugly basta*rd got his champion kiss from Abbie.
So gals, just throw away your check-list about your dream-guy into the rubbish can! Men are simple, all you have to do is laugh for all the words he says, a lil' bit orgasm laugh would be nice. Don't critize too much nor acting like you are freaking out b*tch! The truth is out there, and it's ugly! wow.. i sound like Mike Chadway huh!
