Never back down

@Setiabudi 21, studio 3, Oct 12 2009, 1230 hrs

Well, this "old" movie (made in 2008), tells about a rebellious teen Jake Tyler (Sean Faris), moved with mom and Charlie, his younger brother from Iowa to Orlando, Miami; where Charlie has received a tennis scholarship .... ( pretty strange huh? like the family is so desperate moving to another town because one of their son's scholarship?).
At his new school, he meets Max Cooperman (Evan Peters), an almost fat-guy who is always recording a fight-scene thru his handy-cam and uploading it to the net.
Max makes friend with a rich kid, Ryan (Cam Gigandet), well... actually he joined a kickboxing-club hosted by Ryan.
Max introduces Jake to his martial-art instructor, Jean Roqua (Djimon Hounsou) to learn some "kick-ass" moves after beaten-up by Ryan in front of their high-school mates. And this Ryan has a hot, sexy and blondie girl friend, Baja (Amber Heard), whom always be treated improperly by Ryan. From this point, i guess you already what happens next rite? Can't write it more..

Just let me wrap it up for you :
1. Full of good-looking cast : hot bikini sexy girls and six packs dudes, with average acting.
2. Loaded by pop-rock mix with east-coast rap songs
3. Lots.. lots of teen drama in 90210 style, only this is not in the west-coast. Otherwise, it's good to put a family thing there, but it's kinda boring for this 105 minutes feature and i did almost fall asleep, thank G*d, i bring my own food (yes... i mean it, from home) and ate it while there's nobody sitting besides me in one row.
4. Flat and predictable story. Our rebellion hero got the "babe", he will and must be the winner in the final fighting scene, even already get smacked all over his ribs...whoofff... and everything suddenly became so fine, including his family matters...

5.5 out of 10 stars
