How about if you are not "the real" you? it might be your surrogate

@Plaza Indonesia XXI, studio 5, Oct 5 2009, 1245 hrs

Da*n! this is supposed to be a good movie! If....(i'll continue later, there is a spoiler warning below)
Taking place in present day, when human's live is replaced by surrogates (robot) which could be controlled from home. Just lying in bed and equipped with high-tec gadgets, you could make the robots do everything you want : your daily job, exercise, driving, even kissing, .... but i wonder if they have sex too??! Suprisingly, we can choose what kind of robot we want, even a guy could choose a female form. The surrogates robot are claimed to be more safe, the "operator" (human) will be freed from any physical destruction, even the robot got damaged, those thing will not give any effects to the operator.
The surrogates are sold legally like a cellphone at the store, the only thing we do is plug and activate, and bammm.... it's talking , walking (not wanking), of course it should be re-charged after a while, and we could re-charge our robot on the streets, yeahhhh VSI (the manufacture company) provides those.

Mean while, a bunch of "real" human called as "the dread" , led by the PROPHET (Ving Rhames) build their own community and against the surrogates for mankind.
Until one day, the surrogates of Dr. Canter's son was destroyed by Mr. Strickland with a suspicious weapon , and the operator was also found dead! Dr. Canter (James Cromwell) was the inventor of surrogates before he was kicked out from VSI. Stone (Boris Kodjoe), FBI head assigned this case to Agent Greer (Bruce Willis) and Peters (Radha Mitchell ) ... In other side, Greer feels this is going wrong since he has his own "husband and wife issue" with his wife (Rosamund Pike) who addicted using the surrogates and denied her humanity.

Well... nice idea huh?! If only .. didn't come up in my mind how the surrogates could jump from one truck onto others, rolling everywhere, even climbing the walls, well... i know the robots are strong and uncrashable, but are they designed that powerful?
If the operators could not feel what their robots feel, then why some robots made a little party by electrifying them self, like they are human who's getting drugs or something, helowww.....
Not mention to robots who kissed each other .. are they robot made of steel or what?? oww.. yeahh baby....

#HEAVY SPOILER ALERT# --> just skip this one
How could Dr. Canter using the different surrogates at the same time (of course the "Prophet" didn't sleep all the time right)?? It's very funny there is no one from "the dread" realise a surrogate is already among them, while every human has to pass a "security check" to detect their "humanity".
How the FBI could not detect the existence of a surrogate inside "the dread" community while they have a sophisticated computer things to watch out all surrogates' movement?
Waoooo... the script writer should have prepared their "humanity" of logic in adapting this movie from a graphic novel.
#END OF SPOILER#

The action scenes are not bad at all but don't expect too much , Jonathan Mostow (the director) is not Michael Bay. I have to admit the make-up artist did a good job indeed, this 90 minutes feature succeed in delivering its "humanity" mission thru greer and his wife character, that feeling of pain, getting older, and dying are parts of humanity, even we're using the surrogates, but at the end those things will come to us, no doubt.
Live what you like, be what you want...

I (quite) like it!
6.5 out 10 stars
